Description:
Winter Magic Festival walk - Saturday 24th June 2017 (a.k.a. Wicked Witch
Walk), Leura - Katoomba 24th June 2017.

This is to give advance notice of the Wicked Witch Walk on 24th June 20176,
which is becoming an annual event.

It coincides with the Katoomba Winter Magic Festival: see
http://www.wintermagic.com.au/

The walk is from Leura to Katoomba. It is about 12km, all on "tourist"
tracks but there are some rather steep sections. Some great views over
Jamieson Valley and Mt Solitary.

Bring lunch, 1.5 litres water. Good shoes (Volleys are OK).
Forecast so far is for a low chance of rain. So bring some sort of rain
cover.

You can wear a witch's hat if you like!

At the end you will have a chance to stay and have a look at the street
stalls and performances.

I will likely have an earlier departure from Sydney than normal to try to
avoid the overcrowding on the trains experienced in recent years.

Note that the walk is on a saturday so the $2-50 Opal fare doesn't apply.
It is (off-peak) $5-81 each way. (Student concession: $7-70 cap for the
day). Note: it is $10 each way with a single trip ticket, so don't use
one!!

Members only, please. Only sign up if you are fairly sure you can come.
